Today’s Fragrance: Know Your Place

“‘My son,’ the father said ‘ you are always with me, and everything I have is yours.” (Luke 15:31)

Whiles celebrations went on and loud, as the prodigal son returned home, the faithful son on the other hand was sweating it out on the field, ensuring that his father’s work grows.

On his return, he committed an error by asking servants details of things that was going on in his home, the information he received got him raging angry. And when approached by his father because he wouldn’t get into the house he exclaimed, “Look! All these years I’ve been slaving for you and never disobeyed your orders. Yet you never gave me even a young goat so I could celebrate with my friends. But when this son of yours who has squandered your property with prostitutes comes home, you kill the fattened calf for him!” at this point bitterness had consumed him all because he was fed with the right information at the wrong time. Even so, if this son knew his place, he wouldn’t have been hit by this situation. Because he did not know his place, he limited himself to the place of a servant.

Ignorance caused his grief… This guy had unlimited access to everything his father owned yet he chose to live as a slave.

A lot of believers now, are bitter and in so much pain because of ignorance of their place as sons and daughters of the King of kings. All believers are heirs of God the Father and joint heirs with the Son, Christ Jesus. The bible says that the earth is the lord’s and the fullness thereof, the world and all that dwelleth there in… This God is our father! and we have full right to call him Abba!

The question here is, if you have full access to the Master, why go through a servant?

Who do you go to when you have concerns about things you do not understand? Do you seek help from clueless people because you just need someone to talk to? This harmless act can land you in harmful situations. Because they are as ignorant as you are, they will give you unnecessary details, which will further deteriorate your condition.

But here we learn that, our father bids as to come at all times to him with boldness so we may obtain help in times of need.

Take advantage of your position in Christ and access things that have been freely given unto you, instead of being bitter about what is being given to others because they returned home.

Thank you Lord, for reminding me through your word my rightful place in your kingdom, forgive me for the things i didn’t know yet acted wrongly based on my feelings. And lead me to the place of Joy always in Jesus name, amen.
