Scripture : Romans 8:29-30; 2 Corinthians 3:18; Colossians 3:10
“For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestine to be conformed to the image of his son”…”and whom he justified, them he also glorified”.
Every Christian has one image—of Jesus Christ, the son of God and from the onset of the new life we have that image. Why? In God’s mind “we are complete in Him” (Col. 2:10) but here we are still being transformed, like a caterpillar into a butterfly, into that beautiful likeness of Jesus.
Hence, some fall and get back up again and again, like a little child taking attempts of first steps of life, falling and getting up yet that does not make him less of a human being.
So it is with the new creature in Christ, falling does not make him less of a Christian because he is very complete in Christ and yet being transformed into the full image.
This is the very reason why, “As new-born babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby :”( 1 Pet. 2:2), “For every one that useth milk is unskillful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.” (Heb. 5:13) and that babe is in development as he “with open face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord”. (2 Corinthians. 3:18)
Christ is the word and as we daily look into that mirror we see who we are in Him, yet this revelation can only be unveiled by the Holy Spirit, without whom we can never know “…the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus”. (Ephesians. 2:7)
Beloved, as a baby, we were no less humans but learn daily to live to become fully mature adults, and so it is with being the “right beings” of God—we grow beholding the complete image of Jesus that we already are and are molded with the aid of the Holy Spirit into that glory. So spend your face in The Book and be transformed daily till you come to the fullness of Him. Amen!
