Scripture: Hebrews 12:22; Galatians 3:13-14; Genesis 15:1
“But ye are come unto mount Zion and to the city of the Living God”.
Anyone who comes into Christ has moved from law into grace; mount Sinai to mount Zion, where God dwells. It is the city of our Father, the seat of grace and the place of our abode.
Life in Zion is so much contrasting to the previous life. Here our thinking is changed; we are metamorphosed into the image of God in the face of Christ Jesus and here we possess the blessing of Abraham “that comes on gentiles who believe in Jesus Christ”.
What is the blessing of Abraham?
“That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.” (Gal. 3:14) The blessing of Abraham is God himself, Him by His Holy Spirit dwelling in us. God did not bless Abraham apart from himself because there is no such thing—He and the blessing are one!
So in Genesis fifteen verse one He tells Abraham, “I am your exceeding great reward”. He does not give the reward, He is the reward.
When we align ourselves with the faith of Abraham by believing in Jesus we receive that which God promised Abraham—the “I Amness” of God; all that God is or we need Him be, lives in us and that is the mystery of Zion.
In Zion we are anxious for nothing, we lack nothing; walking in constant provision having been given, “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:”(2 Pet. 1:3). In Zion we petition not, rather we thank God for His provision and the, “inhabitant shall not say, I am sick: the people that dwell therein shall be forgiven their iniquity.”(Isaiah 33:24). In Zion we fellowship with God and are destined to reign!
Beloved, Zion is not just a place. Zion is God himself. “He that dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty”. There is complete protection, provision and all. Walk in that mentality, put God first, delight (be pliable) yourself in Him and all odd won’t know your address.
