May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face to shine upon us, Selah. That your way may be known on earth, your saving power among all nations.
What would it be if you’re asked the reason for which you seek God’s blessings? I think the answer is quite obvious, in that, everyone desires to be happy, favoured and to ultimately increase. The Psalmist However, teaches us something deeper than the above and it is one of the most important reasons why we should seek God’s blessings.
We should seek to be blessed of God so that His way and salvation, may be known on throughout the earth and among all nations.
It is good to know that God blesses us not only for ourselves , but also for the reason that others may know Him through us. This is what meant in His covenant promise to Abraham:
Genesis 12:2-3 And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, SO THAT YOU WILL BE A BLESSING.
I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, AND IN YOU ALL THE FAMILIES OF THE EARTH SHALL BE BLESSED.”
It might sound unreasonable but in the kingdom of God, it is only when you give that you receive in abundance and not when you hold onto what you have.
This is a kingdom principle and once you live by it you’d enjoy the fruits thereof.
Plan to support the cause of God’s kingdom with your blessing. Help advance God’s kingdom with what you’ve been blessed. Make known home and abroad the saving power of our God, even as He blesses you.
Always remember that what you’ve been given isn’t only for your enjoyment so my dear, don’t only be blessed, be a blessing.
