HOLD ON

It is Tuesday and I must confess that I am happy to meet you again. We thank God for the gift of life. Since there is life it is a universal belief that hope has not eluded us. That brings us to the subject matter for today – HOPE.

Today, I will keep it succinct. I would like to share with you a poem on ‘hope’. It has been said that ‘hope is a good thing; may be the best of things’. This is absolutely true because without hope one is as good as dead. Hope is the fuel that keeps us going.

The beauty of hope is that it helps us overcome present challenges with the belief that tomorrow will be better. Though the present may be abysmal, the future is bright.

I believe that hope is the last thing a person loses. Therefore, endure these moments of hardness and do not throw in the towel yet. To be hopelesss is to be defeated even before the fight begins.

Hold on and you will be glad you did.

Below is the poem written on the fulcrum of hope. It tells us that surely there will be the breaking of the dawn no matter how long the night is. And the morning shall give birth to all that we anticipitated. But all these can be possible only if we hold on.

Read it slowly, then read it meditatively.

…………………………………………………………………….

     THE SUN SHALL SHINE

The market women have failed to show up on such a day as this

And the buyers, not even a thought of purchase

The boisterous kids have their toys and balls, yet indoors

The characteristic hum of the hummingbird cannot be heard

And the cocks-a-doodle were never heard. Did they lose their voices?

Now the crows have found a tangible reason not to build their nests

The clouds have gathered since morning

The kids look on disdainfully

The old are unperturbed. For how long shall it rain?

The anger of the clouds is but for a moment

Voila, the rainbow appears

A sign of hope for the kids at last

A currency for the buyers to trade

And the wrinkled-skinned to dry their warty bodies

See!!! The sun is shining, the birds are singing and above all the kids are playing.

…………………………………………………………………….

Finally brethren, any time you you feel like giving up remember that you are close to a breakthrough today than you were yesterday so keep holding on. God has a plan for all of us and He will surely accomplish it. Can I hear an amen?…Reflect on these things.
