Title: let’s come back together
Main text : 2 Corinthians 13:11
Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.
In the last couple of days a lot of Christians have added more to their enemy list than friendship list. How do you rejoice when your enemy list keep rising by your own actions?
A lot of things can cause a united house to fall or to be broken but then, can a house divided against itself stand?
The attitude, values and behavior of some Christians have caused more harm than good and is rather breaking bonds than making strong. Our words and actions have become demoralizing rather than encouraging!
So today God’s word is reminding us to keep our eyes on Jesus so that in all our doings and getting, we don’t miss the mark!
The Lord wants us (Christians) to remove every disorder and restore all that was out of joint so that everything might be in its proper place just as they ought to be by encouraging one another, being of the same mind and living in peace and in so doing the God of love and peace will be with us .
If Christians are indeed one body in Christ then we must be able to overlook our flesh and think with the mind of Christ, see with His eyes and speak with His mouth.
This is the only way we can come to a common understanding and agreement because we have been greatly distracted and divided into different factions for selfish gains.
We are being admonished to lay aside these strifes, be united and manifest the same spirit. The dissensions should cease, and we all should be united in opinion and feeling as Christian brethren.
God desires His children to live in harmony and tranquility with each other.
That same peace we have with God, who has granted us the gift of grace through Jesus Christ.
Having received grace from God, we are also expected to extend grace to others.
In a community where grace is freely received and given, peace will almost certainly prevail.
Father in the name of Jesus Thank you for today and the gift of life. Please forgive me of my sins even as I forgive those who sin against me. Dear Lord, I have gone wrong by not treating my fellow Christians as siblings. Father put your peace and love in my heart and rekindle whatever that has gone cold in me so that I can freely give what I have recieved from you by the enablement of your Spirit. Thank you Father for hearing me in Jesus name, amen.
